Your Expertise and Clients sections help define how your profile appears across Studiomate. Your selections help companies discover you by role, specialty, and the tools you use—while your client list adds credibility and professional context.
This guide walks you through adding and updating:
Expertise (Categories, Skills, Tools)
Clients (Client list on your public profile)
From your Talent Dashboard, select Profile
In the Profile editor, select the Expertise tab or Clients tab
Make updates, then select Save Profile to apply changes
The Expertise tab is where you define your profile signals for discovery and matching. Inside this tab, you’ll find three sections:
Categories
Skills
Tools
These sections are managed using a search bar and a “selected” list of tags.
Categories determine the roles or services your profile is associated with across Studiomate. Companies use categories to browse and search for talent, so choosing the right categories is one of the most important setup steps.
Add Categories
Go to Profile → Expertise → Categories
Use the Search bar to find a category
Select a category to add it to Selected Categories
Repeat until you’ve selected the categories you want
Select Save Profile to apply your changes
Category Limits
The number of categories you can select depends on your membership plan. If you reach your limit, you’ll need to remove a category before adding a new one.
Remove Categories
In Selected Categories, select the “x” on a category tag to remove it
Select Save Profile to apply the update
Examples of Categories
Categories may include roles such as:
Videographer, Camera Operator, Editor, 3D Animation, Set Designer, Web Designer, Director, Producer, and more.
Skills help describe your specific capabilities and specialties. Skills improve how recruiters and hiring teams find you for specific work needs.

Select a skill to add it to Selected Skills
Select Save Profile to apply your changes

Select a tool to add it to Selected Tools
Select Save Profile to apply your changes

You can add up to 10 tools.
Examples of Tools

Keeping Expertise current improves both search visibility and job matching relevance.
The Clients tab allows you to add recognizable past or current clients to your profile. This helps build trust and credibility when companies view your work.
Add Clients
Go to Profile → Clients
Start typing a client name into the client search field
Select Add Client
Repeat to add additional clients
Select Save Profile to apply your changes
A best practice is to add 5–10 clients when possible for stronger credibility.
Remove Clients
Select the “x” on a client tag in your client list
Select Save Profile to apply the update
Saving Changes
Changes made in both Expertise and Clients are only applied after selecting Save Profile. If you navigate away before saving, your updates may not be retained.
