When you sign up for Studiomate, you’ll be asked to choose an account type: Freelancer or Company. Your account type determines if your profile displays your first & last name or your company name. Choosing the right account type ensures Studiomate shows the most relevant features for how you work.
A freelancer account is designed for freelance and independent creative professionals.
If you’re working as a solo creative, contractor, or independent specialist, a freelancer account allows you to:
Create a personal professional profile
Showcase your portfolio and project-based work
Highlight your categories, skills, and tools
Add past and current clients
Appear in selected markets and categories
Apply to contract, remote, part-time, and full-time job opportunities
A Company account is designed for studios, agencies, production companies, and organizations.
If you’re working as part of a team, under a company name, or representing an organization rather than yourself as an individual, a Company account allows you to:
Create and manage a company profile
Showcase your company’s work, services, and portfolio
Represent your team under a single brand or organization
Share company-level identity, background, and social links
Appear on Studiomate as a business rather than an individual freelancer
Company accounts are ideal for teams and organizations that want to present a unified brand presence and showcase their work on Studiomate.
Yes, you can change your account type at any time.
To switch between an Individual (Freelancer) and Company account, go to your Dashboard and navigate to Profile → Overview → Identity. From there, you can toggle your account type on or off by selecting whether you want to appear as a Freelancer or Company.
Changes take effect immediately and update how your profile is displayed across Studiomate.
If you primarily offer creative services as an individual, choose a Freelancer account.
If you represent a studio, agency, or organization that hires or manages creative talent, choose a Company account.
Selecting the correct account type helps ensure your profile is shown to the right audience and that you get the most out of Studiomate.
